To join Tomsk Polytechnic University a prospective student should:
- Fill in the on-line application form on http://abiturient-test.tk/en/application-form
- Send a copy of the international passport and a copy of the educational document of appropriate level (see B. Section of the Policy) in English or in Russian to an admission officer by e-mail: omrs@tpu.ru
- Receive the official reply about your admission to the University within 2 weeks.
- Receive the Visa Support Letter and the Official Letter of Admission within 2 months after approval.
- Apply for a student visa and legalize your educational documents, translate educational documents into Russian and notarize.
- Buy a ticket and send information about your arrival to the admission officer not later than a week before your arrival in order to use a free pick-up service.
- Upon arrival to the University campus submit all the necessary educational documents legalized in a proper way (see B. Section of the Policy), an international passport, 12 recent color photos (3 x 4), an original medical certificate that proves HIV-negative result taken within the last 30 days, a certificate of health.
- Sign the contract and pay the tuition fee for the first academic year to the university bank account.
An application will not be considered by the Admission Office until it is deemed complete (i.e. receipt of all the necessary transcripts and supporting documents)

Pre-University Course/ Pre-Master’s Course/ Postgraduate Preparation Course (1-1,5 academic years)
To enter a university, an applicant should submit the following documents by fax or e-mail:
Pre-University Course:
1. A copy of the Education Certificate that verifies the Secondary School level (including academic transcript: the list of studied subjects, grades and marks) in English or Russian.
2. A copy of the international passport.
Pre-Master’s Course:
1. A copy of the Education Certificate that verifies the Secondary School level (including academic transcript: list of studied subjects, grades and marks) in English or Russian.
2. A copy of the Bachelor’s Degree Certificate (including academic transcript: the list of studied subjects, grades and marks) in English or Russian.
3. A copy of the international passport.
Postgraduate Preparation Course:
1. A copy of the Bachelor’s Degree Certificate (including academic transcript: the list of studied subjects, grades and marks) in English or Russian.
2. A copy of the Master’s Degree Certificate (including academic transcript: the list of studied subjects, grades and marks) in English or Russian.
3. A copy of the international passport.
On arrival to the University an applicant shall submit the following documents:
Pre-University course:

2. 1 copy of the legalized Education Certificate that verifies the Secondary School level (including academic transcript), translated into Russian and certified by a Russian notary. Note that spelling of the name in the translated documents should agree with one in the entrance visa.
Pre-Master’s course:

3. The original of the Master’s Degree Certificate (including academic transcript: the list of studied subjects, grades and marks) legalized in a proper way.
4. 1 copy of the legalized Master’s Degree Certificate (including academic transcript) translated into Russian and certified by a Russian notary.
[1] Depends on the country that issued educational documents (a Consular Legalization or an Apostille). A student is responsible for validity and legality of all the documents and data submitted to the University. During the first year of study he/she is obliged to follow the procedure of evaluation of his/her educational documents to determine the equivalence of his/her national educational documents to Russian educational standards and get the Certificate.
Bachelor’s Degree (4 academic years) / Specialist Program (5 academic years)
To enter the university, an applicant shall submit the following documents by fax or e-mail:

2. A copy of the international passport.
3. A documentary proof of the Russian/English language proficiency (if any).

To enter the university, an applicant shall submit the following documents by fax or e-mail:
1. A copy of the Bachelor’s Degree Certificate (including academic transcript: the list of studied subjects, grades and marks) in English or Russian.
2. A copy of the Master’s Degree Certificate (including academic transcript: the list of studied subjects, grades and marks) in English or Russian.
3. A copy of the international passport;
4. A documentary proof of the Russian/English language proficiency (if any).
