Environmental and Water Resources Management

Training program: Engineering Surveys in Construction

Most construction projects, according to the Urban Planning Code of the Russian Federation, must be based on reliable information about geological, environmental and other conditions. After the construction is completed, based on monitoring and data replenishment, it is possible to predict changes, prevent negative environmental impacts and emergencies.

The program trains highly qualified specialists in geological, hydrogeological, hydrometeorological and environmental surveys and studies for the design and operation of water intakes.

Training programs:

  • Engineering Surveys in Construction, managed by Oleg Gennadyevich Savichev, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor of Geology, Building No. 20, office 517, savichev@tpu.ru;
  • Pure Water, Pasechnik Elena Yuryevna, Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Geology Department, +7 (3822) 606391, +7 (3822) 701777 x 2978, Building No. 20, office 204, paseyu@tpu.ru.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

You will be able to:

  • conduct the main types of engineering surveys: geological, hydrometeorological, environmental;
  • conduct search and exploration of underground water for water supply, local monitoring of environmental components.

Training program: Pure Water

Only a small part of the world's population has access to quality drinking water. At the same time, there are very few specialists who are experts in water resources, from their origin to the preparation of potable water. Graduates of the master's program Pure Water know almost everything about water.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

You will be able to:

  • monitor water bodies, water management systems and structures;
  • develop and use mathematical models of hydrological, hydrogeological, and hydrogeochemical processes in the basins of water bodies and in underground aquifers;
  • analyze the composition of water, design water treatment systems for obtaining physiologically complete water, depending on the composition of the source water;
  • ensure interaction of industrial, agricultural, municipal enterprises and state bodies of water and natural resources management.
