Tomsk Polytechnic University

Physics

Professionals in the field of creation and implementation of new materials for space industry, military-industrial complex, as well as in the field of nuclear and hydrogen energy and non-destructive testing.

Program Overview

The experimental physics graduate is a research engineer with deep theoretical background in physics and mathematics and with a specialization in the field of new materials. However, a person with fundamental knowledge about the structure of the world and with the ability to solve differential equations can find an application to his skills in a very wide area. Surprisingly, there are many physicists and mathematicians among screenwriters, science journalists, and computer game developers.

The educational process is conducted in close cooperation with the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Students are engaged in scientific research, work on modern experimental equipment, do practical training in academic institutions, TPU laboratories, foreign universities and industries. Our students participate in conferences and internships in foreign centers, win grants and scholarships, and publish articles in top-rated journals. Graduates can continue their studies by getting a Master’s degree.
