Tomsk Polytech Again the Only Non-Metropolitan University in the Top 10 of RAEX National Ranking

On Wednesday, the RAEX Rating Agency (RAEX-Analytics) published its annual ranking of the top higher education institutions in Russia, RAEX-100. Tomsk Polytechnic University has retained its ninth place in the ranking. As last year, only Moscow and St. Petersburg universities rank higher than TPU.

According to the Agency, the ranking was based on statistical indicators, as well as the results of surveys of more than 120,000 respondents. Those are representatives of academic and scientific community, students and graduates, and employers.

The Top 100 includes universities from 29 regions of Russia, including 33 participants representing Moscow, 13 – St. Petersburg, and five – Moscow region. Tomsk region, Tatarstan and Samara region (four universities each), as well as Rostov and Volgograd regions (three participants each) are also widely represented in the top list.

As a side note, the Agency has previously announced its subject rankings. Tomsk Polytechnic University ranked first for Power and Electrical Engineering and Chemical Engineering.
