Tomsk Polytechnic University

Our graduates are engaged in research, design, creation and operation of information-measuring systems, automated process control systems, automated R&D systems, computer-aided design systems and automated control systems (ACS) for production facilities. They design both systems as a whole and their component parts.

In this course, students gain practical experience in real-life ACS design and implementation projects with enterprises and research organizations such as Rosatom, Roscosmos, Gazprom, as well as international partners such as the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Milan Polytechnic University, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

Key competencies

  • understanding of the ACS goals and objectives as a result of studying processes in physical plants, including nuclear power plants;
  • knowledge of occupational safety at nuclear industry and power engineering facilities;
  • design and engineering of automated control systems and robotics;
  • understanding the ACS goals and objectives through the study of technological processes and apparatuses of the chemical industry, nuclear fuel cycle and power engineering;
  • applied theoretical and practical knowledge of ACS, including mathematical, informational, algorithmic and engineering support for servicing these systems.
