13.04.02 Electric Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering
The educational program is developed with the participation of power industry companies and includes the study of modern methods and means of designing and operating control systems, automation and protection of power systems.
Emphasis will be put on practical knowledge in working with modern equipment from leading Russian and foreign producers: EKRA, Mekhanotronics, Relematica, NPP Dynamics, Schneider Electric, Siemens, General Electric.
The training features modern professional software: MATLAB Simulink, PSCAD, ARM SRZA, which are used by enterprises of the electric power industry.
Teachers of the program disciplines are actively engaged in research activities within the grants of the Russian Science Foundation and other federal programs. They also work for large power companies. Proactive students can participate in these activities, possibly on a paid basis. This will help them acquire advanced knowledge in the field of electric power systems control and protection.
Key Competencies
- Create digital models of power facilities, network areas, electrotechnical devices, power electronics devices , and automatic control systems for solving research and technological problems
- Apply normative and technical documentation during development of design documentation and operation of power equipment and electrotechnical devices
- Design power equipment and electrotechnical devices taking into account the digitalization of the power industry
- Ensure the operation of electrical equipment of power engineering facilities, including digital substations, microprocessor-based protection and emergency control systems, and telemechanics
