Tomsk Polytechnic University

The program is aimed at training specialists in the field of isotope separation and production of modern isotope-modified materials.

In the course of the program, students undergo practical training at the enterprises of Rosatom State Corporation, participate in grant-supported research projects to improve existing and create new nuclear fuel cycle technologies. They gain invaluable experience working with unique laboratory and research equipment.

Key competencies

  • Application of fundamental laws to the extent necessary for independent combination and synthesis of new ideas, creative self-expression
  • Creation of mathematical and physical models describing processes and phenomena in separation cascades, plants for separation and fine purification of substances, processing and neutralization of industrial wastes
  • Independent experimental and theoretical research to solve scientific and production problems using modern research tools and mathematical calculation methods
  • Calculation, conceptual and design development of modern physical equipment and devices
  • Teaching according to basic educational programs of higher education and additional professional education

Resources

The basic educational program on Isotope and radiochemical technologies is implemented in cooperation with the core enterprises of Rosatom State Corporation. In the course of laboratory work, master students study the operation of the equipment of  JSC "Siberian Chemical Combine” isotope separation plant".

During the training the students use:

Tools of analysis and control systems of separation cascades, technological equipment for processing, utilization and neutralization of industrial wastes;

Plasma, laser, membrane, and ion-exchange units, technologies for obtaining monoisotopic and isotopically modified products;

Mathematical models for theoretical and experimental study of phenomena and laws in the field of physics of separation of isotopic and molecular mixtures.
