12.03.01 Instrumentation
Graduates of the program are professionals equipped with the knowledge of testing technology and instrumentation, software and IT skills.
They are qualified to design equipment and technologies for data collection, registration and processing related to a particular facility; to perform quality control, including technical inspection based on non-destructive testing methods with the use of measuring and testing instruments, systems and equipment.
Quality control is the most mass-scale technological operation. Enhancing requirements to quality standards foster the development of information and measuring instruments and technology, which drives the demand for engineers specializing in the design and operation of information and testing instruments.
At the same time, technical inspection and diagnostics of engineering systems reliability is an integral step in ensuring safe operation of facilities. Higher standards for the reliability of various systems require not only new testing and diagnostics instruments, but also qualified specialists in this field.
The program Intelligent NDT Systems comprises two tracks:
-
Information Systems in Nondestructive Testing and Diagnostics.
-
Nondestructive Testing Instruments and Methods.
Key competencies
- development and application of information and measuring systems, nondestructive testing and diagnostics systems;
- use of state-of-the art technologies in obtaining measurement data, its visualization in instruments and systems based on modern achievements of electronics and computer technology;
- use of various methods of nondestructive testing and diagnostics based on deep fundamental knowledge of physics of matter interaction with fields of different nature (radiation, thermal, electromagnetic, acoustic);
